URL Parser — Decompose and rebuild query

Paste a URL to see protocol, host, path, query table, and hash. Edit query rows and copy the rebuilt URL. Password in userinfo is masked by default. Percent-encoding a component stays on URL Encode / URL Decode.

URL Parser
Paste a URL to see protocol, host, path, query table, and hash. Edit query rows and copy the rebuilt URL. This is not URL Encode / URL Decode — those remain the percent-encoding tools.

Developer notes

• Parser is WHATWG URL — distinct from the percent-encoding module used by URL Encode / URL Decode. • Query names and values are decoded URLSearchParams rows; rebuild re-encodes. • Userinfo password is masked until you reveal it. The rebuilt URL still contains the password if it was in the paste. • FastMinify never fetches the URL.

When this is the right tool

• See every query pair without squinting at a long search string. • Add or remove a parameter and copy the rebuilt URL. • Inspect a URL that contains a password without showing it on screen by default.

Worked examples

URL + query table

Before

https://api.example.com:8443/v1/search?q=hello+world&lang=fr#results

After

host api.example.com:8443 · path /v1/search · q=hello world · lang=fr · hash #results

Password masked

Before

https://user:[email protected]/v1

After

Password shown as dots until you reveal it. Copy rebuilt URL still includes userinfo if it was present.

URL Parser FAQ

Decompose and rebuild — not percent-encoding

Should I use URL Encode instead?

Use URL Encode or URL Decode to percent-encode a single component. This parser decomposes a full URL and rebuilds the query table.

Is the password copied?

The on-screen field is masked by default. Copy rebuilt URL includes userinfo if it was in the paste — treat that clipboard like a secret.

Does this fetch the URL?

No. Parsing is local. FastMinify never requests the host.

Are query values decoded?

Yes. The table shows decoded URLSearchParams names and values. Rebuild re-encodes them.
